Trace formula precedents and dependents

- [Instructor] Excel includes a number of very useful tools you can use to ensure your formulas provide the proper results. One of those tools lets you determine which cells are used in which worksheet formulas. In this movie, I will show you how to identify a cell's precedents, that is which cells provide values to a formula, and its dependents, which identify cells that use the current cell's values in its own calculations. My sample file is 06_01_Tracing, and you can find it in the Chapter06 folder of the Exercise Files collection. I'm starting on the Summary worksheet, and here I have the number of inquiries that my company has received on our website and it's broken down by month. Then in sell D3, I have the sum of all those values, the Projected Revenue based on an assumed value of $41 for each one, and then Cost to Replace a 10% Loss, and that is based on the acquisition cost that we have on the Acquisition Cost worksheet.
