- Have you ever copy pasted data into an Excel spreadsheet and the formatting's all messed up like this? Well, we'll go through how to avoid this issue and how to get your data into the right format for analysis without tons of manual work. So first thing I'm going to do is right click here and then I'm going to just make a copy of this tab. Just so you have that there for you in the exercise file and now we can get to work. So right here we have all these hyperlinks. This is copied across from Wikipedia and I dunno about you, but when you're working on a spreadsheet like this I always accidentally click into the links and it pops up in the browser and it's super frustrating and distracting. So a little trick I learned, this is a great way for removing formatting. If you just type the number one into any cell, I've typed it over here into cell M2 and then you press control + C and then you select where you want to remove…
