- [Instructor] Excel has hundreds of tools that are of use in a variety of industries. And certainly one of those industries is commercial banking. So let's talk about some of the areas in commercial banking, where you can apply Excel. So commercial banking is what most people think about when someone says banking. It encompasses all those local bank branches that you see out there that are making loans and accepting savings from customers. Now, the reality is that we don't necessarily need a lot of Excel at a customer facing level. When you walk into your local bank branch, the teller may not use Excel on a regular basis. There's not a lot of clear need for that in many cases. But we think about commercial banks, their real customers are not savers, but borrowers.
