- [Instructor] Charts and graphs are a great tool for visualizing data. As an accountant, you'll be expected to have some familiarity with Excel's graphing and charting capabilities. I'll show you the basics that an accountant needs to know. This worksheet lists different types of revenue by month. You can find it in the exercise file. Let's start off with a simple line chart of total revenue. When you're creating charts or graphs, try to select only the information you'll be using. If you include extra rows or columns in your selection, it will end up making things harder for you. So select the months, but don't include the annual total column at the end. Then hold down Control or Command on a Mac, and select the total revenue. Go to the Insert ribbon and select Recommended Charts.
