- [Instructor] We know how important it is to share information up front, but it's equally important to advise when someone has entered the wrong information. When we apply data validation with the rules, we also want to provide error alerts when people enter the wrong information. Why? Well, if we are for saving time if they entered it wrong and we don't tell them why, they may enter it wrong again. This is frustrating. You will almost always want to supply an error alert and it needs to be informative. Let's go ahead and highlight ourselves for total cost and I'm going to go ahead and delete the data that's in there already. I'll go to data validation and it's going to tell me that this selection contains more than one type of validation. That's because we have an input message on the first cell.
