- [Instructor] Well, once we already have our data into a table, so we've developed the data structure required to handle our dashboard data, the next thing we want to do is create a pivot table. So what you can do is, from on the ribbon, you'll click insert. Over here, there's pivot table. You can click pivot table like this. Under where it says table range. This is why structured references are so important because here, rather than select the data range, we know I created a new table called orders, so I can actually just put orders in here and then we're going to actually put it in cell I9. So where it says existing worksheet, under location, here we're going to have cell I9 selected, like that. I'm going to go ahead and hit okay. So now I've inserted a new pivot table. If you've never used pivot tables before, the best way to think of a pivot table is, that it is the great flattener. It always takes columns of data…
