Use data bars to display length or volume
- [Instructor] In addition to the features by way of conditional formatting, highlighting cell rules, top bottom rules, you might have seen this in the previous chapter, we also have a feature called data bars. Add a color bar to represent the value in the cell. There are two types. There's a solid fill and a gradient fill. Suppose we'd like to bring out the information in the salary column more vividly than just showing the numbers. We'll select column E, back to conditional formatting, data bars, consider the gradients here, gradient colors. Notice how in each case here, the color on the right side of the bar fades toward white. So that could be one of your choices. If you make the column wider, that might be a little bit more readable, more workable. Again, a personal choice here. Back to conditional formatting. Instead of gradient fill, you might consider solid fill. The issue here with some of these colors is that the color might be too dark to see the numbers if that's critical.…
