Add a chart element
- [Instructor] As you work with charts, you quickly become familiar with the various components of a chart. We refer to them as chart elements. In this chart to the right of the data, on this worksheet called year data in our chapter two file, the outer area as we slide the mouse over it is referred to as the chart area. The inner area is the plot area. You might have a legend on top or on the side. Sometimes we slide the mouse over this portion here. We'll see legend. And it's not important to memorize these. You quickly pick up on them. But we can change them. And sometime you'll want to add elements that are not within a chart. For example, there are vertical grid lines we might want to use here. There are data labels that we're not seeing. So when a chart is selected on the chart design tab, far left button add chart element, click that button and here are some of the various chart elements.
