Waterfall and funnel charts
- [Instructor] Now let's talk about waterfall and funnel charts. Both of these charts are great for showing a process that has some sort of flow to it. So let's consider this monthly sales revenue for February. So we have a starting revenue, that's this part right here. Then we have our sales increase. Then we have our returns and our discounts, and that gives us our net sales. So this is what's called a waterfall chart, and you could see because it builds up and then it sort of falls down like a waterfall. And finally, one of the most important things of a waterfall chart is this total. So you can see that this is gray here, this actually starts from the bottom, so this total doesn't move up, but goes from the bottom. And this gives us the idea of how these things increase and decrease to get to the final value. So let's talk about how to build something like this.
