- [Instructor] Not all footprinting and reconnaissance involves highly technical skills or tools. Many times, a preliminary evaluation of a target can be achieved using several low-tech methods. One example is using competitive intelligence, which can lend insight on many aspects of an organization. In this segment, we'll describe how the ethical hacking team can use competitive intelligence to gather information about a company. Competitive intelligence gathers competitor information on its products, services, and customers so a company can face business challenges with more direction. Competitive intelligence uses standard search methods and is completely legal. The ethical hacking team can use competitive intelligence to get a better picture of the target.
