- New jobs are popping up all the time, such as generative AI detectors, cyber currency advisors, digital nomad experts, NFT artists, algorithm bias auditors, and metaverse designers. It's not easy to anticipate which skills we might need next and further out as new jobs appear and our careers progress. In order to be prepared for whatever is ahead, fundamental skills now include problem-solving, adaptability, and collaboration, as well as basic technical skills. The World Economic Forum updates a list every year of top skills for the workplace of the future. In January, 2023, they listed the fastest growing, highest demand, emerging skill sets as AI, machine learning, cloud computing, project management, and social media.
