- [Narrator] Managers work in an environment governed by hundreds of laws and regulations. Knowing the basic employment laws will help prevent you from generating legal exposures simply because you didn't know this information. Just as importantly, it will help you to identify when you are in over your head and need to contact human resources or somebody else for additional help. How well you manage compliance concerns is a reflection of your company culture and your personal integrity. Given today's online transparency, any slip up on your part is sure to be played out on social media, if not in the courtroom as well. My encouragement to you is that you view compliance as the ground floor of a healthy company culture and a successful management career.
