We've learned about self-regulation, building an individual development plan, and promoting yourself and your accomplishments. We also talked about managing relationships, how to build them, as well as how to maintain them. Now, if all of these things are done well and consistently, there may be a promotion in your future. So let's discuss what all this means in a corporate environment. As we know in an office, relationships are essential. Not only does your leader need to believe you can take that next step, the people around you need to believe you can take your next step. The professionals at the level where you'd like to be will naturally compare you to themselves, and evaluate whether you deserve to be at their level. What they think does not define who you are and what you deserve, but perception means something in this industry.
