First impressions are more than how you look, dress, and whether you have good posture. One of my favorite sayings is, people don't remember what you look like, they remember how you made them feel. Let's focus on crushing first impressions. There are three ways to crush your first impression. The first is, finding opportunities to connect quickly. Most first impressions are made in face-to-face conversations. There are many different ways to have an engaging and effective conversation, but the key to effective communication is finding opportunities to connect by active listening. Within the first five minutes of talking to someone, they are likely to reveal something about themselves that you can use in a future discussion. The second way to crush your first impression is to be authentic. It's a great way to show your new connection exactly who they can expect in future encounters with you.
