Repeat grid patterns
- [Instructor] In this movie, we'll go over the newest pattern related feature in Illustrator, the repeat grid functionality. Let's take a look at how it works in context, a pattern design. So we're going to revisit our Fiori pattern that we created from scratch using the bounding box method and the pattern tool. We don't need the bounding box. So we're going to delete that. I'm going to turn on this layer is going to be the background color for the pattern. We're going to select our art and change it to white. Now, the next thing I want to do is go to Object, pull down to Repeat and go over and select Grid. This is going to immediately bring up the repeat grid control window. It's not a traditional bounding box like you would have around a rectangular shape, creating in Illustrator. It gives you some controls that we need to address. First, this repeat is too big.
