- [Instructor] Custom letter forms are fun to create, but adding Blend Mode effects to them can create some compelling visuals in hand lettering. So let me show you how you can approach using overlap effects with your hand lettering to achieve a unique style. Now, over the years, I've created a lot of skull-based designs and this is just some of them, not all of them. And it always kind of entertains me 'cause I never set out to do a lot of skulls. It's just certain projects would come up and I'd go, "Yeah, I could do a skull for that and that." Some of these are personal ones, a handful of 'em are, but other ones were for clients. So I always find it a little humorous when people, usually older people, tend to get a little upset, "Well why are you doing a skull?" I go, "Well, why are you offended "by a skull? You have one."
