Inking letters in analog

- [Instructor] We live in a wonderful creative time in our industry. The digital tools provided to us make our creative explorations and workflow easier. For that I'm thankful, but I learned everything traditionally in art school. So when I say analog, all I mean is traditional tactile drawing, with the physical pen or pencil on paper. And for most of my hand lettering projects, I work that way. And that is where the process on this specific project starts for me. So in this movie, we're going to focus on hand inked artwork and use it to create a custom hand letter design. So let's get going. This is where it started. This was my thumbnail sketch. Once again, a lot bigger on screen than in real life. It was maybe two inches wide or so. But you can see it's just simple lines with pencils. And I would call this first stage the bone work.
