Creating from inspiration
is to create for no other reason than to create. I'm talking personal creative projects where you can explore and experiment and try new things and develop new ways to work. Let's take a look at such a project. So I was cleaning up my files one day and I came across a printout that I had doodled on and it was just this little bird shape drawn So I grabbed the same red pen and I just started drawing some more trying that bird shape at top. It kind of reminded me of Batman's mark but a bird, not a bat. And then as I drew it, I drew it a second time and then I thought, well, I wonder if I put like some detail on the inside but still don't really make it look realistic but imply more of the bird attributes. And when I did that, I go, that looks kind of cool. And that's all I mean, don't ignore those moments where you have an idea. Just see where they go, see where they lead to. I kept drawing on top of it and drew another one.…
