- Millennials are the largest and most racially and ethnically diverse generation in the workforce today. 44% of them identify as non-white. Gen Z currently encompassing 30 year olds and younger is the most racially and ethnically diverse generation overall with 48% of them identifying as non-white. Simply put, the more generational diversity you have in the workforce, the more racial diversity you have. Unfortunately, racism continues to be a dominant negative force in our world and by extension in our workplaces. As our workforces become more racially diverse, there will undoubtedly be more workplace challenges resulting from bias, stereotyping and projection. Just as baby boomers and gen X ushered more women into the workforce and changes needed to be made to the men's club to be a less hostile and more accepting atmosphere for women, similar changes will need to happen as millennials and gen Z greatly increase the…
