- [Instructor] Let's revisit email practices for a moment, specifically emails with attachments. Now, many people don't realize that every time they attach a document to an email, they're actually creating another independent copy of that document. If you send an email with an attachment to 20 people, there are now 20 separate copies of that document floating around. If someone updates their version, none of the other 19 people know about it. Worse, everyone may be making their own changes, potentially leading to multiple conflicting versions. This is a recipe for confusion, inconsistency, and lost time as everyone scrambles to figure out which version is the most current. Another drawback to attachments is the lack of control over who sees the document after it's sent. Once you attach a file to an email and hit send, you lose control over who that file can be shared with. Even if you mark the email as confidential, there's nothing stopping the recipient from forwarding it to others…
