- Have you ever had someone at work gaslights you on a program? It happens. It's likely that you'll have people trying to undermine you and sometimes sneakily from the shadows. I call them the dreaded naysayers. I'm going to share with you different types of naysayers, common reasons why they may oppose your program, and key approaches to these critics. Naysayers fall into two different categories, overt and covert. Overt naysayers are instantly recognizable as they will publicly or privately, lets you know that they disagree with your program, direction or course of action. Covert naysayers can be more difficult to identify. These are the people who may agree with your program publicly, but delay input, or progress, brief against you or more actively undermine your program in ways that are not obvious to you.
