Assess your organization structure
- A key driver of your organization's performance is its organizational structure. This means the reporting relationships, roles, and responsibilities of the people who work there. Reporting relationships are all about who works for whom. Sometimes these relationships are very clear and rigid, while other times, they're more fluid and less structured. There may also be multiple levels of reporting relationships. For example, a frontline worker might report to a team leader. That team leader reports to a manager. That manager reports to a director, and that director reports to a vice president. That VP reports to a division president, and that division president reports to the CEO. At each level of that organization, there are specified tasks that the person is responsible for executing and differing levels of decision-making authority.
