- Over the course of a lifetime, the average person spends 32,000 hours eating. That's over three and a half years. Food is essential for our survival, but it's more than just nourishment. Mealtimes give us an opportunity to connect. At LinkedIn, we believe in building products and moments of authentic connection. Similar to the LinkedIn platform itself, food brings people together. It breaks down barriers, provides comfort. It can even fuel creativity. We believe in the power of food to create culture. I'll dive deeper into our research-based approach to support this type of authentic connection. We've designed our cafe spaces and offerings to be inclusive and representative of the local employee base. Enjoying a meal is more than simply the food you consume. Research from the University of Oxford found that people who eat together are more likely to feel happy and satisfied with their lives.
