Adding a document grid
- [Instructor] So I've created the layout grid of 12 columns and eight rows. So, so far, we have our layout grid, which defines our rows and columns. We have our baseline grid, defining our baseline grid increment and we have our column guides, in violet and magenta, which define our type area. We can optionally in addition add a document grid. Now it's rare for me to want to do this because as you will see, it does create quite a lot of visual confusion. But using a document grid, we do get the option to further subdivide our baseline grid increment. So let me come to my grid's preferences. You'll find these under the edit menu, if you are a Windows user. And then to document grid. Well, I'm going to change the grid line to every 12 points. Remember, that's the increment of our baseline. With just a single subdivision for both the vertical and the horizontal. And now I'll turn the grid on. And I can use the keyboard shortcut for that as well, which is command, alt, control, quote…
