Create an information architecture
- Just as physical spaces use maps and signage for orientation, our user experience needs clear way-finding elements to help people get around our site. Information architecture refers to how we organize information across our digital experience. This is how people find and interact with information through search, navigation menus, and breadcrumb trails. Information architecture is a deep topic, and I have another course on structure that dives a bit deeper if you're interested. To establish an information architecture, we should have an idea of how we want to organize our app. Earlier in the course, during ideation, we created a dashboard for the app, but we didn't create the navigation. Global navigation is the navigation bar on the top of the page and is accessible anywhere on the site. The other type of navigation is at the page level.
