- [Narrator] Whether you're a newbie in the creative field, with a freshly minted design degree, or whether you're a seasoned professional, the mission critical information on your resume is education and experience. I call this the meat and potatoes of the resume. Hiring managers and recruiters are going to be looking first and foremost for job titles, dates, company names, key words, and qualities that fit their needs. It's up to you to make their job easier. Present your information clearly and upfront. Use good typographic hierarchy to visualize organize and highlight your education and experience. For new or recent grads, education should be topmost, unless you have a slew of relevant internships, or it can be topmost in a side column, like this. If you're not a recent grad, education should be below your experience. Your experience should be carefully worded. Every word and phrase counts. Keep it tight. Eliminate any excess verbiage.
