Using videos in presentations
- [Host] Video is a very powerful tool that can connect with us at an emotional level. Using video, we could be shown a demonstration or a transformation, or be taken on a journey. As with all powerful things, video should be used carefully and wisely. So here are my top five tips for using video, in your presentations, only include video if it helps the audience to understand. If it doesn't, don't use it at all. Use only high quality video and make it large enough to be seen, or, again, don't use it at all. Ideally, make the video full screen and as part of your presentation, not in a floating window. Keep it short, ideally under a minute, but of course there will be exceptions. It's just if it's longer, just make sure your audience know what they're in for and tell them the approximate or exact duration of the clip. Play the video locally. Using linked video is risky. If it's high stakes, make sure it's on your hard drive. And if you are using PowerPoint, keep the video in the same…
