In this lesson, I'm going to talk about spanning tree convergence and what goes on in a switch in a switch network. So to start off with, we have a vital component, which is the timers. So there's a couple components within the timers. We're going to start off with the max age. The max age is the maximum length of time that's going to pass before Bridgeport's going to keep its BPU information relevant. So, if a switch loses contact with the BPU source, it's gonna assume that the BPU information's still valid for the life of the max age. Now, the default value is 20 seconds, and you could change that with the command spanning tree VLAN, the VLAN ID, and then you do the max age and whatever you want that value to be. So, the next thing is gonna be the hello time. And so, this is the time interval between BPUs that get advertised out of a port.
