Learning objectives
In this lesson, we're going to talk about the spanning tree protocol, and this is the protocol that we use to prevent forwarding loops within the layer two of the switches. We're going to talk about how we actually go through and build out the spanning tree topology and other advances we had, such as PVST, the per-VLAN spanning tree, and how we actually go through convergence when we actually have a switch failure, along with some of the latest technologies such as RSTP, and then we're gonna talk about how we can actually tune the spanning tree topology. And then for those environments that have a lot of VLANs, we could talk about the multiple spanning tree protocol.
