So, in this lesson, I'm going to provide you with an overview of routing concepts. If you are very comfortable with routing and the baseline concepts of how a packet moves throughout the network, by all means, go ahead and fast-forward through this lesson, and if you want a refresher, go ahead, sit back, have a Coke and a bag of popcorn, and watch. We're going to start off with talking about how does a packet actually forward across a single network, where we have a router device or a security appliance or a switch with Layer 3 for it. Let's take an example that we have two PCs, where PCA, we're sending traffic to PCB. Well, what's going to end up happening is PCA is going to realize the fact of it's on a different network, and it needs to reference its own routing table. Now, at this point, it's probably going to be its own default gateway. What's going to end up happening is PCA is going to say, okay, I need to send this packet towards the MX on the interface.
