- Every time we move throughout our workplace, we assess the culture, often subconsciously, asking ourselves: "Am I safe, and do I trust those around me?" Again, am I safe and do I trust those around me? Safety and trust are the building blocks to a belonging culture. If we answer yes to each question, we're likely to feel a strong sense of belonging. We're more likely to feel that we're adding to the culture, not merely fitting into it. And it's critical we feel this at work. But what exactly is workplace culture? Simply put, workplace culture is the transferable set of attitudes, behaviors, and values that allows an organization to survive. Culture is an embodied experience. It's found everywhere, and it's felt within the nervous system. Yet pinpointing how it shows up can sometimes be elusive. To help clarify what workplace culture is, here are a few examples.
