Employee surveys do's and don'ts
- Employee surveys are one of the primary ways for companies to measure employee experience and a key source of data for people analytics projects. When done well, surveys make employees feel seen and heard, and they give organizations timely insights to act on. Here are some do's and don'ts I have found for employee surveys. Let's start with the dos. First, analyze the feedback and communicate to employees what you have heard. This helps employees know the leaders in the organization have heard their feedback. In addition to employees, it's helpful to communicate actionable tips to people managers based on your analysis. One of the analysis I've seen that's simple and powerful is to compare the results of employees who stayed versus those who quit to identify focus areas for retention.
