Craft clear recommendations from data

- Usually projecting a chart up on a slide is not enough to drive change. You need to transform insights from charts into a very clear recommendation so leaders can drive decisions. A well-structured recommendation bridges the gap between information and action. The trick is knowing how to structure a data-driven recommendation by first sharing the insight, proposing the action, and then finally, explaining the impact it has on your greater organization. So first start with the insight. Summarize the key insight in a way that prepares your audience for the recommendation that's going to follow. So here's an example of a key insight and it explains what happened. It goes like this. "The data shows that the customer churn rate increased by 8% last quarter." Now what you got to do is follow that up with what caused the data to head that direction. And that cause was that "Customer feedback revealed poor onboarding as the root cause."
