Analyzing data with Excel
When you start working with data, it's easy to get excited about tools like SQL, Python, Tableau, or Power BI. But there's one tool that many companies rely on more than anything else: Microsoft Excel. Even if Excel seems basic at first glance, it's incredibly powerful and widely used across industries. Let's look at a few things that make Excel such an essential tool for data analysis. First, Excel allows you to import large amounts of data from a wide range of sources. Once you find your file, select Open, and there is your data spread out in a series of rows and columns. Second, Excel is an excellent tool for cleaning data. You'll often encounter dirty data or information that's inaccurate, incomplete, or has inconsistent formatting. Excel offers a large library of functions to help you fix these issues and prepare your dataset for analysis.
