In this lesson, we're going to talk about protecting sensitive data and personally identifiable information, or PII. Now, I know we mentioned this in multiple different lessons, from passwords to security to malware. We understand that anything that can personally identify us is very, very important, and we want to make sure that we protect it at all costs. So, what do we typically do? We encrypt PII data, especially for things like credit card information, for PCI compliance, both whether it's in transit during the card transaction, or if that data is at rest in a database somewhere with your credit card information stored in it. We also want to do access controls, and we want to make sure we limit who has access to any of that authorized data and to make sure that if you are getting access to that data that you should be. Like HR typically has access to these types of data. Finance may have access to these types of data, right? Operations probably does not. Facilities probably…
