In this lesson, we're going to talk about how do you scan and detect malware? Well, the first thing you have to do is use some sort of antivirus or anti-malware software to do a scan of your system to see if it detects anything in your environment. A lot of times, it will not. Sometimes you'll find malware that is on your network that won't even go active for like like six months later after it's downloaded. But what does happen is once some of these different types of malware are detected on the internet and all these different providers who look for these sort of things share that information, the software updates that you get for your malware and antivirus will be updated. And if it sees those files and that they could potentially be in trouble, they will quarantine them and make sure that they are not causing an issue. The other thing that you want to do is make sure that you employ some sort of a network intrusion detection or intrusion prevention system. So you heard of NIDS…
