- Let's talk about what you should know before taking this course. My goal is to help you quickly learn essential digital forensics concepts and develop an overall understanding of the field. So this course has no real prerequisites. We'll be using both Windows and Linux operating systems, but don't worry if you don't have a Linux computer available, you can still sit back and watch the demos. However, do keep in mind that many computer forensics investigations require using Linux, so it'll be good to get familiar with the OS. The software tools used in this course are free or available as trial versions. I'll share details about how to download each of them later in this course.
