- [Tutor] Let's imagine a house with a 20 foot electric fence two armed guards, biometric reader and cameras that are being monitored 24/7. Once inside the house every guest's belongings are searched thoroughly before being allowed entry. As unrealistic as that house is, there's a concept that it's trying to employ called defense in depth. This basically means adding more and more layers of security measures, so that if one fails there's another layer under that to get through. Remember, the goal of security isn't to become unhackable or make sure you never fall victim to social engineers. It's to cause enough inconvenience to your attacker that they pick on someone else. Using software that helps to combat social engineering is just another layer.
