- Allow me to set the scene. It's a dreary Monday morning. You've been out for a week and come back to an avalanche of emails. It'll take you days before your inbox reaches zero, but you quickly scan the subject lines to see if anything urgent stands out. One email catches your eye. Urgent: Account termination imminent. The email came in a week ago. Rushing, you skim the email and click the link to sign in and save your account. Now, you may be thinking, that's ridiculous. I'd never click on a link without checking and double checking. And to that, I say well done. I also say that you never know what emotional state you'll be in when you succumb to a phishing attack. All it takes is one off moment. We covered biases in the last video, but there are more psychology-based concepts to be aware of when it comes to understanding why phishing attacks are successful.
