- [Instructor] One of the most fundamental and important aspects of portrait photography is learning how to effectively pose your subject. Now, one of my favorite things about portraiture, one of the greatest things in my own opinion, is that when it comes to creating a good portrait, it really doesn't matter who you're photographing. In other words, portraiture is one of the most inclusive photographic genres in the world because really anyone is a good portrait subject. So how then can we pose different people in different ways to create meaningful frames? Because the reality is that sometimes, maybe we want to pose where we're photographing someone up close, like on the left, or maybe more pulled back or you're showing more of the scene. Or maybe we're interested in, I dunno, capturing kind of a casual or a warm look. Or perhaps, you want something a little more melancholy, a touch soulful and thoughtful.
