- [Instructor] So far in this course, I have been following the rhythm of introducing the principle and then showing examples. Well, this chapter's going to be a little bit different. I'm just going to combine this because it's a pretty simple concept, and I don't want to overdo it. This isn't something that I use all the time, but it can be really helpful when you need to use this. And this is about providing a knee tuck. And what this means is you're bringing the knee towards the body. Now, what psychologists or nonverbal experts will tell us is that this is a self-comforting behavior. So let me show you what this looks like. In this case, you can see both subjects are sitting on a stool, different stools, and I asked them to bring that knee in and then wrap their arms around it. So I just said, "Hey, yeah, what if you bring your knee up and then kind of put your arms around it?" What it does is it's kind of like a self-soothing behavior. There's these different things we do.
