Challenge: Rewriting to remove hyperbole
(upbeat music) (upbeat music ends) - In this exercise, the file called Chapter 5 - Jargon, in the exercise folder, we're going to rewrite the service description to make sure the factual information isn't smothered by opinion-based or unverifiable information. The process to follow is quite simple. Read each sentence and ask yourself whether the words in it contain a statement of fact or whether they're just hyperbole. Then decide whether the statement is written in an understandable way. We're obviously not just concerned with reducing and removing jargon. You should also apply the techniques you've learned in previous chapters to ensure that the text stands up as concise and readable as possible. That might involve using shorter words, sentences, and paragraphs, creating bulleted lists, and placing the most important information at the beginning of the product description.
