- [Instructor] Parameters are a way of taking user input and driving some action within your dashboard. Now, parameters have been around for a while and parameter actions work in a very similar way in that it can take the user input, but that can be the form of an interaction with the marks actually within the sheet. Often you'll have a parameter much like a filter control with a dropdown or a slider, but the parameter action allows you to interact with the visualizations on the screen and then see something change. So let's look at an example using a parameter to highlight some marks. So I'm going to use the scatter plot that we have on the left hand side. What I want to be able to do is select one of the marks and then highlight some of the other marks based on certain criteria. So let's, for example, have it so that if I select a particular mark, I want to highlight all of the marks that are higher in value in terms of say sales, okay? So whatever mark I pick, I want to highlight…
