Filter actions
- [Instructor] Filter actions are both one of the most common use cases for actions, and also one of the easiest to create. Now filter actions work by using one sheet as the filter for the other sheets in a dashboard. If I select one or multiple marks of one sheet, it filters that same data for all of the other sheets. Now, this can be incredibly useful, because it means I don't have to have filter control showing, and also performance-wise, the filter doesn't happen until I interact with the sheet. Now, to create the filter action, there's two ways of doing it. There's a very quick way and there's a custom way. The customer has more controls, but obviously, it takes a little bit more work to do. So, I can use any sheet as a filter. So for example, if I select my profit map, I want this to be a filter.
