- [Instructor] The fourth W is what. What data are we going to show in our dashboard? Now, the reason that this is the final W is quite important when you think about the other three. So when we talk about the who, where, and why, that's kind of guiding the purpose, the audience, and where our dashboard is going to be seen. Now after we have all those bits of information together, we can then start thinking about the what. So things like what elements are going to help answer those other questions? Understanding who the audience is tells us what data do we need to display. Do we need to show it in a high level or low level of detail? The detail depends on things like the domain knowledge. So for a wider audience, does it need to be a high level, because the lower level detail might be too much. Conversely, if we're building an operational dashboard, maybe it needs to be a high level of detail but on a specific targeted area. But we need to understand the who part before we can think…
