- [Instructor] Let's go on to talk about Revit dimensions. Dimensions in a drawing are crucial as they give information about the correct location of building elements during construction. Architectural construction documents follow the convention of aligned dimensioning. This is where the dimension line was parallel to the element being dimensioned and the dimension text is placed parallel to and above the dimension line. Let's talk about some pro tips, some do's and don'ts. Avoid over dimensioning. The important dimensions on a plan view are those required to locate the element. Any further detail should be communicated in enlarged detailed views. They may be planned or section views. So for example, you do not need to dimension door openings. That information will be reported in the door schedule. You do not need to dimension everything in the kitchen. This information will be reported in large plan or section…
