Add a Building Pad

- [Instructor] Adding a building pad to our model allows us to cut precisely through a possibly uneven topo surface to create a level cutout to rest our building upon. Now for our building, one of the things that we do need to keep in mind is that firstly, we have an undulating site and secondly, we have a basement. So we do need to remember to make sure that our building pad sits right at the basement level. Let's see how to do that. Let's go to the massing and site tab. We're going to click on the building pad tool. This now brings us to the modify, and create pad boundary. We are going to sketch a boundary line, and we are going to use pick lines because you know what? Even though our base file has come from AutoCAD, Revit will allow you to snap to the AutoCAD line work and even pick lines.
