- [Instructor] In this movie, we're going to talk about expressions that you need to know for templates. With that said, it's also important to know what expressions can do. So expressions can do a lot of things, but some of those include drive the user experience, which is what we want to do in a template situation. An idea of this is, an expression will say, when I do this, this other layer does that. Idea being if the text grows, a shape layer grows to the equal value in terms of size as things are happening. Another use of expressions could be linked spreadsheets with CSV files, with expressions. So you could literally create a spreadsheet in a CSV format, and feed that to a template to auto-populate a series of lower thirds or titles. Last, you can limit user error with expressions, i.e., setting anchor points the correct location. Making sure that text doesn't go off screen and that it always fits an appropriate roster or…
