- Planning your video resume is just the beginning. Once you written your script, it's time to work on your delivery because it's not just what you say, it's how you say it. There's an often quoted statistic from psychology professor, Albert Mehrabian, that nonverbal cues make up 93% of communication. He breaks this down further by saying that 7% of communication is verbal, 38% is through tone of voice, and 55% is through body language. Now, these numbers are also often debated, so I'm not here to prescribe this as dogma. But, it is essential that you prepare not just the content, but also your tone and body language in your video. Let's first talk about tone which is essentially how you come across in your words and the impression that you create on your audience.
