PowerTRACE

- PowerTRACE is used to convert a raster image into a vector image. Why would you want to do that? Well it's simple, a raster image or bitmap should not increase in size any more than about 20%. Any more than that then you'll be looking at a pixelated image. We have a couple of images here a line drawing and an image of a high school mascot. We'll start with the image of the chain links and take a look at line drawing traces. To do this with the image selected, you will notice on my interactive property bar, I have an option to trace bitmap under the Bitmap menu. I also have the ability to do a quick trace, central line trace, or outline trace. I'm going to click on the Trace Bitmap and here I'm going to select center line trace, and then I'll select Technical Illustration.
